In recent decades, overfishing has had serious repercussions on fish stocks and pushed certain species to the brink of extinction. In addition, aquaculture activities are becoming more and more affected by the occurrence of Harmful Algal Blooms, which pose threats to human health and cause major economic losses to the industry.
