The Austral Summer Institutes (ASI) are run annually at the University of Concepcion in Chile and are co-sponsored by POGO. The Institute takes approximately 30 students for a series of lectures on specific topics relating to the general theme of the Institute.

 

The next Austral Summer Institute (ASI XII) will take place in October-November 2011 and January 2012 and will consist of 7 courses in the following areas: Marine Genomics, Water and Global Change, Time-Series in Oceanography and Microbial Oceanography.
