International Workshop on ENSO, Decadal Variability and Climate Change in South America PDF Print

The  World  Climate  Research Programme (WCRP), the Climate Variability & Predictability of WCRP (CLIVAR)  the International Research Centre on El Niño (CIIFEN) and the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (IGBP), are pleased to announce the “International Workshop on ENSO, Decadal Variability and Climate Change in South America” which will be held in Guayaquil, Ecuador, on October 12th-14th 2010.

 

The objectives of the workshop  are:  

(a) To review the newest and available science on ENSO, decadal variability and Climate Change in South America (SA); 

(b) To review the estimated trends and changes in ENSO teleconnections in SA;

(c) To discuss the potential climate impacts for the next 10-15 years and their social and economical implications in SA.

 

It is expected to have the active participation of scientists from South America and relevant scientists from across the world in this workshop.
Depending on the mobilization of resources, partial or full support will be available to selected scientists from South American countries. A fee for participation will be fixed in order to contribute to funding for the event.
