Ocean Acidification Summer Course

The graduate Course: "Experimental Approaches to Understanding Ocean Acidification" will take place from June 20 - July 22 at the Friday Harbor Laboratories, University of Washington. Ocean acidification research is emerging as a critical field in marine biology. This course will help new researchers design appropriate experiments to document and manipulate ocean carbonate chemistry.

Students will gain extensive, hands-on experience with analytical chemistry techniques. Class projects will subject local organisms to elevated CO2 levels. The emphasis will be on the mechanics of designing and conducting experiments. 9 credit hours. Suitable for graduate students or postdocs with special interest in the topic.
