2018 SCOR Visiting Scholars Program

SCOR has issued a call for applications for the 2018 SCOR Visiting Scholars Program. The announcement can be found at http://www.scor-int.org/SCOR_Visiting_Scholars.htm

 

Applications are due by 15 November 2017.

 

SCOR will support five Visiting Scholars in 2018. Applications are welcomed from potential Visiting Scholars as well as institutions wishing to host a Visiting Scholar.

 

Duke University online training: Marine Planning Process - 16 Oct to 15 Dec 2017

Registration is open for an online, 8-week version of Duke’s Marine Planning training, from 16 October to 15 December 2017.

 

In this “fundamentals of planning” class, participants learn global best practices and essential skills in marine planning. The interactive curriculum is designed for professionals with interest in coastal and oceans management at all experience levels. This course is led by its author, Mike Barrett, who has worked across the Pacific, the US, Caribbean, and Europe on Marine Planning issues.

 

ESA advanced training course on remote sensing of the Cryosphere, 11-16 June 2018, Svalbard (Norway)

As part of the Earth Observation (EO) Science for Society – Scientific Exploitation element of EOEP-5 program, the European Space Agency (ESA) is organising an advanced training course on remote sensing of the Cryosphere, devoted to train the next generation of scientists and specialists to exploit EO data for science and applications.

Advanced Master in Sustainable Blue Growth

The Advanced (postgraduated) Master in Sustainable Blue Growth is jointly organized by University of Trieste and OGS – National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics.

 

OBIS Asian nodes and Coral Reef Training Course 

 The course provides an introduction to the Ocean Biogeographic Information System (OBIS). This includes best practices in marine biogeographic data management, data publication, data access, data analysis and data visualisation.
